Topic:   Advanced Outcomes Based Negotiation

Speaker:   Dan Kelly, President and Founer, The Negotiation Guru

About the Topic:
Many people have attended standard negotiation training, but very few have ever taken it a step further to “outcomes-based negotiation”.

Outcomes-based negotiation is the practice of  approaching a negotiation in a new mutually engaging way. Instead of just negotiating for the best commercial terms (often resulting in a win-lose relationship), you have the opportunity to also promote and manage best-in-class supplier relationships that tie your terms to intended and measurable outcomes of the relationship.

By using outcomes based negotiation strategies; Global Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams can quickly achieve greater results for their stakeholders by delivering a contractual relationship that promotes and requires optimal behavior over the life of the contract. This produces happy stakeholders, greater influence, and efficient Procurement Supplier Relationship Management Practices.

About the Speaker:
Dan Kelly has over 10 years of advanced negotiation and strategic sourcing experience within both the public and private sectors. He is recognized as a Senior Expert in IT Procurement by industry experts and leading management consulting firms.

He started his career with the FBI, where he was in charge of Strategic Supplier Relationships on behalf of the FBI and its global investigations.

After leaving the FBI, Dan has supported Cargill, Syngenta and MTS Systems in various capacities, ranging from Senior Project Specialist to the Global Head of Indirect Procurement all within the span of 5 years.

Currently, Dan is the principal consultant at The Negotiator Guru where he enjoys working with his C-Suite clients to deliver immediate and long lasting financial impact to the company’s stakeholders.
