Presentation Overview:  Commodity prices have been on a wild ride the last couple years.  Join us for some expert insight on what we can expect over the next 6 months.  The presentation will cover:

  >  What does the robust rebound in commodity prices since May tell us about the buying environment for the next 6 months?
  >  Review of the global macroeconomic outlook and the latest indices, including reported backog and delivery times.
  >  Which commodities or products are expected to make storng price moves - up or down?
  >  What risks should you be watching that may alter this buying environment?

Speaker:  Laura Hodges, Executive Director, IHS Markit Pricing & Purchasing Service

Speaker Bio:  Laura Hodges is the Executive Director of the Pricing and Purchasing Service at IHS Markit and focuses on global procurement strategies to help clients save money.  Ms. Hodges is responsitble for the management and operations of the Pricing and Purchasing Research team.  She has managed several projects on global cost analysis, including projects in Asia and South America where the objective was to recommend the most cost-effective and efficient actions in the procurement of key materials and services.

She has spoken extensively on the topic of procurement pricing strategies and the global cost environment, including presenting to ISM on "Has China Lost its Low Cost Edge."  She has also made a presentation on the "Economic Risks to Consider Before Bidding your Next Contract to the Asosociation for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.  Ms. Hodges holds a B.A. in Economics from the George Washington University, a Master of Arts in Health and Labor Economics from Duke University, and an MBA from Rutgers University in Beijing, China.

Cost:  This seminar is free for ISM members and the cost is $20 for non-members.  Registration is required to attend.
